Preparing Children for Life and Teaching English
with Adventures in Wisdom® Coaching Stories
Cristina loves children, loves stories, and loves English! As a child, her mother would share stories about growing up in Romania and Cristina learned many life lessons from her stories.
She discovered English as a young teenager and taught herself the language in only one year. Wanting to inspire other children, Cristina became an English teacher to help Romanian children learn the language too.
She also used classic books and movies, such as Mary Poppins and Tom Sawyer, to share life messages with children in her classroom.
But something was missing.
She wanted to have a greater impact on children and better prepare them for life – to focus on both “fluency and confidence”.
Looking for a better way to teach, Cristina turned to the Internet in 2015 and discovered Adventures in Wisdom®.
Cristina shared her excitement, “Adventures in Wisdom was much more than I was looking for or expected to fine. It was love at first sight! I came from an education background, so I had passion for working with kids, but no coaching experience or business experience. Becoming a Certified WISDOM Coach® helped me develop skills in both areas – guiding me, step-by-step, to coach kids in a systematic way.”
Cristina started “Grow Wise with English”, a program designed for teaching both English and WISDOM to Children.
Two years later, Cristina retired from her 40-year teaching career and now runs her business full-time! Last year she worked with over 50 children in workshops, small groups, and one-on-one coaching.
Now a Senior WISDOM Coach, Cristina offers five different 7-week workshops (“journeys”) for children between the ages of 6-14 focusing on the five segments of the Adventures in Wisdom curriculum: MindPower, InnerPower, MePower, DreamPower, and Slaying Dragons.[1]
Through these journeys, children develop key mindset skills for happiness, confidence, resilience, achievement, self-leadership, and more.
Cristina shares, “Each session begins with a story from Adventures in Wisdom and we work on English too.
We have fun with activities and games from both the curriculum as well as some that I have created. I love that I can add my own creativity into the program.
At the end of the journey I host an interactive workshop for the parents and children to celebrate the children’s accomplishments.”
Cristina’s life-long love of English and personal development has inspired some of her former students to bring their children to her program as well!
“As a Master Adventurer, I have learned to be more responsible and how to make my own choices without being influenced by those around me. I have learned how to ‘power shift’ my negative thoughts to positive thoughts and how to leave my comfort zone without fear. I have discovered that I can admit my mistakes without fear and learn from them.
The most important thing I have learned is that it is important to be honest with others, but most important to be honest with myself.
This program taught me how to be confident and brave…. Thank you for helping me to understand all of these things and I do hope to be able to help others as well.”
